PRESENTING THE MUSIC OF
After an absence of fourty years, the New Yellow Dog Jazz Club was re-launched in January 2006 and was the only Saturday Night Traditional Jazz Club in the South of England.
The original Yellow Dog Jazz Club was held in the Bevois Valley area of Southampton at a pub called "The Portswood Hotel". Throughout its ten year existence, many musicians descended into its darkly lit basement to play the beautiful music of New Orleans.
It was at the Yellow Dog that the famous Beaulieu Jazz Festival was conceived back in 1956.
